I have graduated with a First Class Honours degree from the University of Brighton whilst studying BSc (Hons) Computer Science. I have completed an industrial placement year at the UK’s largest single runway airport, Gatwick Airport in between my second and third year study at University.
I enjoy the satisfaction of solving problems using logic and initiative and find programming to be extremely rewarding when this is accomplished. I am a friendly, organised individual, have high personal standards of performance and am a reliable and supportive team player.
I've just arrived back to the UK after spending almost a year working and travelling around British Columbia, Canada
Personally I am interested in IOT, Data Analytics, Blockchain Technology, Website UI/UX design and development, Server management and electronics.
I’m a confident user of Linux (Raspbian Jessie lite) Apache, MySQL, PHP, Javascript, Bootstrap framework, Splunk. I have a strong understanding of client-server relationship. I have also used Java, C, Python, D3.js framework and LetsEncrypt SSL certificates.
In January 2018 I brought an old 1989 Chevrolet G20 van and spent 5 months renovating it into a camper van, despite having no construction or automotive experience. I learnt a lot, researching and building it in my own time. Most of the materials had been salvaged and up-cycled, the electronics were new and functioned to allow two people to live inside full time whilst road-tripping around BC. The project was a huge success and I am sad I couldn't bring her home with me. More photos can be found here.
In July 2017 I won £250 FDM Best Development Prize for my final year project. I was also awarded a Highly Commended prize of £100 in the Beepurple University of Brighton Ideas Competition which recognised that my idea has potential to grow. My project bridges the gap between hardware and software by remotely controlling plugs, doors, lights, and cameras. More photos and details can be found here
In 2007 I developed a website which hosted online flash games. The website was originally created in order to avoid school filtering systems in place. The website was a huge success and saw users visiting from all over the world. It has over 775,000 views to date
